Found Some New Easter Eggs: Galaxy of Terror and Nick Painting!

While writing my walkthrough I’ve come across several things I never saw in my previous games and I thought I would share!

After the townhall meeting and your dinner with George Emily and Thomas, I chose to not head straight back to the hotel to complete the progress report to the FBI, instead I slept in the graveyard and spent the next day doing some more side missions. Lucky for me in the day/evening of the next day it started to rain so I was able to finish the first Emily side mission too.

After hanging with Emily I headed over to the Galaxy of Terror and talked with Thomas and Carol who were both working inside. When I spoke with Carol to my surprise the name of the bar was brought up:

Carol: Yes. You got a problem?
York: The name of this place…Galaxy of Terror. Did you get it from the movie of the same name?
Carol: …So what if I did?
York: then you must remember the scene where the giant worm attack the woman. You know, and then…
Carol: Don’t tell me you came here to talk about giant space worms?
York: I guess I did. Unless you want to talk about something else? But I think that’s a great topic to break the ice, you know.
Carol: …You were dropped as a baby, right?
York: …Dropped? Why would she worry about something that could only have happened so long ago Zach?

— Tried talking to her again —

Carol: I don’t need to hear anything more about alien worms…

Galaxy_of_terrorSo I was curious about the death scene York was trying to discuss was since he sort of hemmed and hawed about it. This is unusual since we’ve seen him gleefully talk about heads exploding in an alien attack movie over a department lunch. So I did some google fu and I believe I found the scene and I can can see why York didn’t go into details. In this scene a space worm rips off a woman’s clothes and begins to eat her in more ways then one… You can actually watch the entire scene over on io9.com as there an article discussing it:

The Best Worm Sex Death Scene in the Galaxy [nsfw]

Yeah so seriously WTF York how is this a good ice breaker, with Carol of all people?

So after Carol stopped talking to me I visited the Cormack residence as both Olivia and Nick were home due to the rain. Olivia had nothing to say but I saw that Nick was in one of the locked rooms. I ran outside to a peeping spot and was able to see Nick working on a painting of a still life! I thought it was cool 🙂
