I am dying–DYING–to see pictures of the old man now so I can formulate my own theories as to who it was. Until I make up my mind as to who he is/after the reveal, I am calling him Grandpa Borgnine, after the “Merlin’s Shop of Mystical Wonders” episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 with the grandpa who tells hilariously inappropriate bedtime stories to his grandson.
Originally there was no doubt in my mind that it’s Zach, but you mentioned the lack of the scar, so I’m not sure now. Hmmm…
