My Real Life Deadly Premonition Trading Cards!

By Whitney | fanworks, site updates | 14 comments | 14 December, 2011 | 0

Last month I was inspired to make the 65 trading cards you can collect in game a reality after seeing a fabulous fan made Deadly Premonition playing card deck over on Deviantart. I finished the set over the Thanksgiving weekend and just received the printed cards in the mail today! They came out great!

The card fronts are a screencap of the card as you see it in-game but with some touchups: I re-typed the text, redrew the solid color border elements and made other minor edits (like fixing the spelling of “Turkey” on the Turkey sandwich card) so the final print would be a bit crisper overall. The card backs design is entirely my own creation using the in-game card descriptions, my own game screencaps and a stock photo or two.

So what do you guys think? I would love to give a set to SWERY and I plan on giving away a set as a prize in a contest for the site but I’m not sure what it will entail just yet… I’ll keep you posted!

The contest is a go! Details can be found here!

I was also able to get a set to SWERY :)!

    As York would say, “Amazing!”

I’m the guy who made the deck of playing cards. My original intention was to do the trading cards, but I could never get high enough resolution images of the cards to make ’em. I’m glad someone was able to do it, though! They look great! I wouldn’t mind having a set of these myself. 😛

I’d pay good money for a set of these!

These are fantastic, please make this available to buy. But Swery65 should get the first set. He mentioned them on twitter this morning.

This is amazing, I’m with Destructoid.com, you should do several prints and sell them. I would buy a set for sure.

That is amazing. I would buy those, regardless of the price and shipping. I hope it will be possible some day 🙂

@Seroth – Oh awesome, I’m so happy you were able to see my deck and I’m thrilled you liked how they came out too! Your playing card deck was so kickass. Thanks again for the inspiration 😀

@VerusMaya II – Be sure to come back when I figure out a contest for the cards!

@Ofmana – I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to sell these since it has copyrighted material on them. I was able to get into contact with SWERY the other day and I’m going to ship him a set this week!

@Tobbii – Thank you! I’ve had a lot of people ask and I would but since it uses copyrighted material it wouldn’t be legal. 🙁

@Tommy – Maybe if I was given the okay by Access Games I could sell them but for now it’s a no. I hope you will come back though and try to win a set!

Swery would be VERY proud of you! ^_^

I'd really like to buy a deck myself, would you be willing to make
    some more copies, please?

You can post online the source you used to create the cards, and people can then print them themselves (then, no sell = no problem).

No…I worked really hard taking screens and designing the backs of these cards and I would be worried other people would just use my source art to print and sell them for themselves. I would rather just give sets away as prizes for the site than just upload my large art files.
